Visit by the Mayor

The club was honoured to receive a visit from the Mayor of Mid & East Antrim Council Cllr William McCaughey. The Mayor spoke to members of the club, including some of our new Juniors. After receiving a technique lesson on the Erg machine, Cllr McCaughey took to the seas on the Golden Dawn. Joined by one of our Juniors, Jason Greenwood our club coach put the Mayor through his paces on an enjoyable spin to Blackhead Lighthouse and back. Despite a brief shower, the Mayor thoroughly enjoyed the outing. We’ll hopefully be able to invite him back, and maybe get him along to one of Antrims coastal regattas in 2022.
